I think she probibly means something along the lines of "Don't start a band full of whining, talentless posers whose daily exitement comes from someone saying the look/sound/act like someone famous" Not all bands want to be like someone, and surely all the chords and modes and scales will never be used up because music styles change so much over the passing of time.
